2000 Census Community Profiles

The Community Profiles include six pages of data for each community in Southeast Michigan--the "essence of the census data base for the greatest variety of users."  These are the books you will keep handy on your bookshelves, for reference throughout the decade and beyond.

Three separate books are available

1.  Minor Civil Divisions in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties

2.  Minor Civil Divisions in Livingston, Monroe, St. Clair and Washtenaw counties.

3.  UWCS Subcommunities in the City of Detroit

Census Tract Coding Guides

Census Tract Coding Guides are the books needed when you, the user, need to find a census tract for an address. The books are organized alphabetically by county, with six separate volumes as shown on the attached order form. SEMCC's coding guides are more complete and accurate than those provided directly by the Census Bureau.

Census Tract Maps

The 2000 Census Tract Map Book includes a series of map sheets covering the seven counties of the SEMCOG region at legible scales.

Empowerment Zone (EZ) Coding Guide

The Empowerment Zone Coding Guide enables users to determine the Empowerment Zone (EZ) status of any address in Detroit, without reference to a map or to a list of census tracts.

The Coding Guide has two sections. The first lists all streets and address ranges in the Zone. The second lists all streets and address ranges in Detroit, with EZ lines highlighted in bold type.

The Empowerment Zone Coding Guide was developed and is published by the Southeast Michigan Census Council, with financial assistance through a charitable grant from NBD Bank.
